"The Women" That old 1939 classic "The Women" is finally getting a remake after years of development . People reports that Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Sandra Bullock and Ashley Judd are in negotiations to star and Uma Thurman may have a role as well in the New Line Cinema project. The troubled project never really got much life due to concerns that the source material was too dated and the audience wouldn't be enough to justify the budget. Now though, with the success of "Sex and the City" and more recently the astounding ratings of "Desperate Housewives", audiences seem to be receptive to the material. Diane English, who has penned the script, will make her directorial debut on the film which begins shooting in February. Mick Jagger will produce and supervise the soundtrack. The story about a woman who discovers her husband is having an affair and telling her friends; will have Benning as the wronged woman, Thurman as the 'other' woman, and the others as Benning's friends |
